A trigger point massage is sometimes known as the ‘body energiser’. This is due to the potent impact ‘opening’ the marma points can have on an individual’s mental and physical health and well-being.
In Ayurvedic tradition, there are 107 marma points throughout the body. These include the 7 major chakras. After being greeted by your therapist, your 60 minute, full body treatment will commence in our beautifully warmed treatment room with a soothing foot soak while an Ayurvedic consultant begins massaging the head, shoulders and neck. With the soothing sounds of Gandharva (a soothing traditional style of Indian music) playing, a light oil based massage will be followed by a targeted treatment to open the energy channels and allow for the free flow of prana or vital life force.
After the completion of your treatment, you’ll be shown to the specially designed meditation space to sip a freshly brewed herbal tea and rest quietly as your body and mind recalibrates after treatment.
This form of massage helps promote healing of the 107 marma points while enhancing circulation and blood flow. Other benefits include:
- Local and distal pain relief
- Triggers release of the neuro-chemicals seratonin and melatonin. This improves cognitive function, and promotes deeper sleep
- Prevention of blockages and imbalances in the body
- Aids healing and disease prevention
- Balances the doshas
Treatment time: 60 minutes + 30 minutes sound therapy = $225
